About Me

“Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.”

— Jonathan Swift

Bio

Kevin Cross is an Irish painter based in New York City. Although he is colorblind, his work focuses primarily on the use of color, line and form to create the illusion of motion on two dimensional surfaces.

His latest work is the "Horizon" series. The focus of the series is memories. So powerful and emotive, memories tell the story of our lives but they are intangible and can be elusive and difficult to hold on to. Exploring our relationship and response to memories, the "Horizon" series is my attempt to capture a slice of time and give attention to those fleeting moments that keep us connected to the past.

He was born and raised in Limerick, Ireland. In 2006 he moved to New York City where began his art practice. His work has been shown nationally and is held in private collections both in the U.S. and internationally.
